Aishwarya heads to Wagah border

Aishwarya Rai had completed her shoot in Amritsar and could not head to the Wagah border to shoot the remaining portions of Omung Kumar’s Sarbjit as per the original plan. Reason- the government’s permission to shoot at the place in question, which had been duly applied for, did not come in time.

SpotboyE was the first to break that news (Aishwarya’s Wagah border shoot goes for a toss, Feb 24), and we are again the first to tell you, that finally, after 5 long days of wait, the Jazbaa actress will head to Wagah border tomorrow morning.

The permission was granted at 4 pm today. Richa Chadha and Randeep Hooda too, who are also with Aishwarya, will go with her.

The film’s producers Omung and Sandeep Singh are heaving a sigh of relief. If the permission hadn’t come by, they were planning to recreate a Wagah border set in Mumbai, which in turn would have undesirably increased their film’s budget.

After completing their shoot at the Wagah border, Aishwarya & Co will head to Delhi for a two-day schedule. The remaining portions of the film will then be shot in Mumbai.

Aishwarya plays Dalbir Kaur, the sister of Sarabjit Singh, the Indian citizen who spent 22 years in a Pakistan prison on charges of espionage. Randeep plays the title role.
